According to recent reports from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), scientists and researchers from across the world are sounding the alarm that our future is in jeopardy and we are not doing nearly enough to prevent the globe from warming to very dangerous levels within our lifetimes. We will be dealing with the climate damage that has already been done for years to come and now our children’s future is in jeopardy unless we face the climate crisis head-on with significant structural and economic changes.

Increases in global temperatures are triggering the passage of difficult to reverse thresholds, causing an increase in high-intensity hurricanes, flooding, heatwaves, and fires, threatening food production, clean water availability, and our ability to thrive at an increasingly alarming rate.

Latino/a/x comunidades and communities of color are already experiencing some of the worst impacts of this environmental devastation. We must rise up and take action now to limit the devastation facing our communities, for without swift action, irreversible climate impacts and a degraded existence for our familias and children will be locked in for generations. We cannot allow anyone to treat our Madre like this nor can we choose to remain neutral. That time is over.

Our conversation, featuring an all-star panel of scientists and researchers, will focus on what is driving the climate crisis, how it is affecting our communities, how we adapt to it, and what we can do to limit further warming and provide our children with a better future.

We hope you’ll join us for this important educational event and take action with us in the future. We aim to bring together communities through local actions that will make up the global environmental liberation movement. We must rise together as Madre Tierra is struggling to defend herself. This is not a drill.
