Storytelling has proven to be essential in mobilizing people for rainforest conservation and environmental advocacy – especially the youngest generations. It comes in different forms and shapes and needs to be tailored to the target audience in order to be effective. In these times of social distancing, there is a growing need for creative, off-the-beaten track storytelling – one that adapts to these digital times while at the same remaining accessible and reliable, able to trigger emotions and inspire collectiveness. In this session, the audience will get to learn tips and tricks for powerful storytelling. Then, three expert storytellers – all of them involved in rainforest conservation, and each of them mastering a specific technique – will share with the audience samples of their work, insights from the field and recipes for success in breakout groups.
