This event, hosted by the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) & the Science Panel for the Amazon (SPA), will present an overview on the Indigenous peoples of the Amazon and their critical role in holding back deforestation, maintaining regional and global climate stability, and – above all – protecting land rights. Speakers will also discuss how these lands are currently threatened by political and economic interests that drive deforestation rates and how combining Indigenous knowledge with the science can  contribute to a more sustainable Amazon.
