Halle Catalina Brown
Halle Catalina Brown joined the Andes Amazon Fund (AAF) as the Program Associate in September 2024, bringing nearly five years of experience supporting conservation efforts in Latin America. Before joining the AAF team, she developed corporate strategies for reducing environmental impact with the Uplift Agency.
In 2022-2023, she was a U.S. Fulbright researcher in Ecuador. Through this experience, she visited local community-owned ecotourism organizations from the coast to the Amazon to identify strategies for expanding conservation, empowering women, and increasing economic opportunities. After the program, she continued to support Fundación EcoMinga and other Ecuadorian NGOs in implementing sustainable alternatives for rural communities.
Halle has a Master’s of Public Policy from the Joseph Korbel School of International Studies and a B.A. in Environmental Science and Public Policy from the University of Denver. Her background in science and policy provides a robust and pragmatic approach to her work while maintaining her passion for preserving the earth equitably for all people. Outside of work, she enjoys being outside in any capacity: cycling, hiking with her dog, and rock climbing.
