World Environment Day 2020

By Andes Amazon Fund

Every year on June 5th, the world gathers to celebrate World Environment Day. This worldwide event calls for governments, businesses, and citizens to engage in efforts to save our planet and reduce the human impact on our ecosystems.

World Environment Day is not just a day for observance, but a day to actively learn and act upon the ways we can help our environment and diminish our carbon footprint. It is a day to engage with local authorities, governments and leaders on environmental issues affecting our communities. At the individual level, June 5th calls upon us to analyze and dismantle our consumption patterns that contribute to environmental degradation, to encourage businesses to implement greener models and to push for sustainability.

This year’s World Environment Day is being held by Colombia, one of the most biodiverse countries in the world and home to indigenous reserves and protected areas funded by us at Andes Amazon Fund.

World Environment Day will offer a global platform that will provide the inspiration, knowledge and tools that can empower us to enact real change and help save our planet before it is too late.

In celebration, AAF has launched an events calendar with the webinars and global discussions surrounding World Environment Day 2020.
